FdA year 1 sum up

Over my first year on the FdA I have learnt a lot of things to do with the graphic design world. One of the main things I learnt was the importance of a good knowledge for typography. I learnt a lot of things to do with type in the second term where I did the design for education publicity project. I'm not brilliant at type as you may have seen but in comparison to the start of the course I have come on leaps and bounds. I hope to keep extending my knowledge of this subject in the future. I have also learnt to go through a process more when generating ideas which hopefully has made my work richer. In my work I can see a distinct style emerging which is sort of simple illustrations that I then vectorise in illustrator. I DO NOT LIKE THIS STYLE. I want to wean myself off this as soon as possible. I want to do this because I want to be more versatile and for personal reasons of becoming bored of going through the same process in most of my work this year, but is much harder than I anticipated it would be. One more thing that I have learnt this year was to look at the world with a more critical eye, picking up on design aspects I like and more so things I don't like as much. The last thing that I'm going to take on is the enjoyment and passion that I'm developing for this thing called graphic design.
